Samples

We are pleased to provide a few sample pages to show our visitors what they can expect from the Member’s Area of familyejournal.com.

Please note that the names and content used are fictitious and for demonstration purposes only.

The family members are: William (Leader/Father), Mary (Mother), Sally (16 yr. old daughter), and John (11 yr. old son).

My Family

“My Family” is the main page a user will see upon login and provides general information and navigation for the user. From this page a user can:

  1. Edit their personal information.
  2. See how many unread DEWs are available and who they are from.
  3. See how many new Memos are available and who they are from.

DEW (Daily Experience Worksheet)

The DEW is the heart of the Family eJournal. This is where family members will answer the professionally developed questions that will allow them to share their thoughts and feelings. When other members of your family read your DEW answers they will know what you are thinking and feeling and likely feel more connected to you.

The Main DEW page allows a user to:

  1. Begin or edit a DEW for that day.
  2. Read one of your own DEWs from the past 30 days.
  3. Read another family member’s DEW from the past 30 days.

The "Enter my DEW for Today" allows a user to:

  1. Answer the four professionally developed questions.
  2. Select whether or not you would like to discuss each question offline.
  3. Write about any other topic or issue in the space provided under Additional Thoughts.

Memos

Memos are similar to email but local to the Family eJournal website and only allow a user to send a note to another member of their own family. Memos can be used to discuss more private and sensitive topics between one or more family members rather than sharing that information with the entire family.

The Main Memo page allows a user to:

  1. View all memos currently in your inbox from the past 30 days.
  2. View the “read” status of each memo in your inbox.
  3. View all memos that you have sent for the past 30 days.
  4. Create a new memo.

The Create a Memo page allows a user to:

  1. Select which family members will receive this particular memo.
  2. Enter a subject for the memo.
  3. Enter the text of the memo.
